THE RANCH

2001 Ranch is situated on Maui's rugged north shore, a true gem in the surrounding jungle. When you turn off the Hana Highway towards the ocean you'll know you're really out in the country. It's an 80 acre cattle ranch surrounded by state forest and other large ranches. The property reaches all the way to the ocean, about a mile or so, through some spectacular scenery. The landscape varies from wide open mountainside pastures to deep jungle filled gorges. Major gulches with streams and waterfalls bound the property on either side. Years of erosion have carved out steep-walled canyons, filled with towering plant life. At the ocean the streams come together and fall straight down the breathtaking cliffs to the pounding waves below. There are many waterfalls and pools of every size in the stream beds to enjoy. 2001 Ranch is private property and a working ranch with a small herd of 25 head of cattle. HIKING

How about a guided hike around the ranch? We can take you on a trek through the jungle where you'll see native vegetation like KOA, KUKUI, HALA and OHIA trees. There's a bamboo forest and wild coffee trees. There are magnificent waterfalls tumbling over cliffs into the ocean 200 feet below. Or maybe you'd like to see the old irrigation tunnels and Hawaiian homesite remains. Whether it's a short 1 or 2 hour hike, or an all day exploration of the gulches and freshwater pools, we can customize a hike to suit your desires and fitness level.
